Red in a Red Tail Giant?

in a RTGG, when does the red in the tail usually start becoming more red haha, mines still a youngin at only the size of my palm, but i dont see so much "red" yet. is it an adult kinda thing? looks more jus like a giant gourami thats blackish with no red at all. almost none.

It might be the quality of the fish. Some RTGG I have seen have very little red.

My RTGG had very red coloration from 4" onwards.

mines about 5" and just started to get an orage color in it tail
