It has only been three days since I got this guy and his humping is already showing. Can't wait to see how he'll look like a month from now. Body is more slender compared to the stripe Midas of equal length.

Will get better pix later on.

Very rarely do I see these fish with actual red on them. Sometimes i see some pink on them but mostly nothing at all. Why is this? You would think with a name like that it would have a distinct red to it.

I'll probably just need to pump mines up cause it seems to be more elongated than the 4-6" stripe Midas' I just gave away. Ours do look very similar only yours look to be alot fuller.

They get real red in the wild because of their diet, look at the pic jeff rapps has. Mine has a pink face it gets a little darker when its upset, i bet if you fed the fish some foods high in beta carotene you could get some serious red

cichlidinsomniac's fish is a fine example, hope mines turns out half as nice:headbang2

The upper lip on mines is white, hope that is nothing to worry about:irked:
looks like hes been rubbing it on the glass, hes got real potential all these fish do he should have a huge hump in no time, i wonder if tetra color bits would bring out the red
