Thanks! I got them two weeks ago from Jeff Rapps. Looked like they were going to spawn the first week I got them but the male was beating up on the female. I made her a cave with the flower pot. So she was hiding in ther while the male cools down from his wrath. I noticed she got lighter in color but her bars are extremely dark. The male is darker with like a pinkish rose color to his throat area. Is that normal for Isletas? First time breeding them.

No problem, pots work the best as far as I am concerned. Much more room for the pair as a whole and males tend to remain more tolerant of female with it. You can look at my past videos and see my set up. Acouple small pots for her, and 1 massive pot for them both.

Eggs are gone! Went on a run came back to the male chasing the hell out of the female. Oh well. Hopefully they get to it again. Was looking forward to this spawn. MAybe she moved them. Couldnt really see in the pot. Tried to stick my hand in and that didnt go to well. Male made a crazy dash for my hand.

Give them time, they'll do it again. Wait till the male humps up, it's truly impressive. Definitely my favorite Amphilophus sp.
