I have a pair of Isletas coming Friday from Rapps. I order them just to top off a shipment so I was wondering if anybody had any good things to say a bought them or bad :) Thanks

i prefer the other species of the amphilphus family. red isletas don't grow as big as citrinellus. the black/gray color is kind of bland, they don't stand out in the tank. but i mean, if you prefer the barred look and you like them to stay relatively small (~10 inches), then they're a cool cichlid.

They are very similiar to citrinillem. They can get just as big 12"+ My guy is pushing 9.5-10" right now and I got him on May at 5"...

OP They are like any other amph very owner responsive and aggressive :)

I have a pair myself. They are like a barred Midas. Male gets a real nice hump. (red) They have some real nice red in the throat and head. They are like the Lyonsi in size, they stay a bit smaller, but are very aggressive for their size.

I like mine, and have around 300 fry growing from their first 2 spawns. :)

I figured you can go wrong with the amps. I got a order of umbee, Trimac, Dovii, and toped it of with the red heads :) ill post pics soon
