i got a pair of red jewels that have layed eggs. question is do they eat thier eggs of fry?

Not in my expierance no. In fact they are great at raisning fry. That said...they breed most relkiably with dither fish in the tank and THEY take a big toll on the eggs/fry. What I do is to allow the pair to hatch the eggs and then transfur the spawn as soon as they are free swimming. The pair recondition and start over faster this way and I know the fry are safe in my fry tanks. I have a batch of 200 or so that I moved to the fry tank three days ago.
