I recently bought a small group of golden barbs from a fellow fishkeeper.
I noticed a red mark on the largest female when I got them but thought it was just a mark from bumping into something.
Over the past week however there has appeared several more red patches and what looks to be a small raised white part in each of the marks. There is also now a similar mark on one of the smaller bards which I believe is male.
Hopefully my photos have attached so you can see what I mean.
I contacted the previous owner who says that he believed the mark was from the males chasing the large female attempting to get her to drop eggs. Is this a possibility of should I be more concerned?
Any and all help is appreciated. Unfortunately I put them straight in to my main tank which contains several expensive fish.

It almost looks like the fish is being rammed by another fish and it could be the golden barb behavior.

What other fish are in this tank?

There's a breeding pair of kribs in the tank. They are chasing the barbs away from the eggs but I hadn't noticed much contact.
It seems likely though if you don't think it looks like parasites etc.

I bet the kribs are taking nips at them or the barbs are running into stuff getting away from the kribs.
