Hi,
I have a marbled fenestratus (mutation species) who is 1.5yr old.
I just noticed today that his fins are very red at the base where they connect to his body. I am not sure if this is out of the ordinary or not, I would have thought I would have noticed it before if it were normal. It looks painful, and I've included some pics (it can't be seen that well from the photos but hopefully this conveys what I'm talking about - in real life it is more pronounced than can be seen from the pictures).
While taking these pics I also noticed he has some streaks of red at the top of his body just under the dorsal fin, which can be seen in one of them. Again, I'm not sure if this is normal or not.
Would appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this situation or if it has been seen before. Could it be 'red pest' ?
My water parameters are: nitrate, ammonia, nitrite all zero; pH 6.2.
Thank you for any help.
