Red marks on rosy reds

I was just wondering what these red marks are. Every time I purchase 20 rosy red minnows there is always at least 1 or 2 of them that have a dark red mark. It doesn't seem to matter where I buy them either. They almost look like abrasion marks or internal bleeding. Anyone think they could be parasites? Is it just from them being roughly handled? Any ideas?

hey, I just bought some and had two with this same mark, towards the center of the fish?

They can be anywhere on the fish's body.

internal bleeding. Most of the time it's in the head.

So are the ones with internal bleeding OK to use as feeders? I usually just discard them because of it.

yup, it's ok. It's usually caused by extreme stress or the dumb minnow hitting his head on the side of the glass. It probably won't die. It's not disease related.

just throw in the ones that look bad at frist and save the good ones for later,just pay attention to them and make sure they get fungus
