Im in trouble, at first I didnt like them too much, but now I do. Whats the story on these guys, and are they hardy as the others, still looking for red heads but want more info on these. Yes I know some people hate them lol. So nobody cares about that lol.

hes saying how do you know they are simply line bred and not a hybrid of some sort since the topic is still hotly debated if nothing has changed in the couple months i have been away from mfk haha. as far as i know the person that developed the super red sevs has not disclosed how they did it and some think its was through hybridization much like the SRT

to the op yeah i havent owned any but was interested in them in the past and they dont seem to be any weaker or anything that normal sevs, like stated they just tend to be infertil (hence the hybrid theory) and usually male, i would def prefer some nice natural looking rotkeils to the red ones though! :)

Do I think they are hybrids? No.

Did I breed them? No.

Is there any way to know for sure unless you bred them originally or did a DNA test? No.

Do I really care that much? No.

For the purposes of this thread, consider them the same as a standard severum, Heros efasciatus, as far as care goes.
If you want to start a separate thread exploring the origins of the "super reds," go ahead. Enough derail.

i wasnt derailing at all or even saying whether i cared (i dont) i was simply clarifying a question that YOU asked and then already moved on to answering the OPs question after that so YOUR post is actually the derail (and this one of me giving in to the bait...)

lol well I like them best too but I still like these. I dont seem to see either one for sale much though around CA
