Hello all I have a red oscar that is about 7 in. long not a very old fish. Here lately he's been acting quite weird almost as if he is blind. He rarely leaves my albino oscars side and when he does he bumps into everything. His eating has really dropped off, to the point you don't even see him eat. Has anyone ever encountered this? thanks Sean

I have 2 Albino Oscars and 1 red tiger oscar. One of the albinos eyes look weird and he keeps bumping into everything. When he tries to take food out of my hand he misses. He doesn't have a problem eating though. He eventually finds food.

are your oscar's eye's cloudy or starting to?? if he is not eating look for this as it may be a true fungus infection! does the fish seem lathargic (kinda like all duh an stuff??) do you do at least one water change per week ??? if not start .. I would recommend two per week I also would'nt exceed 25% of total volume in tank... If you catch this in time the fish will pull though .. best of luck..

It may show no sign extrnally yet! but be internally infected. one way to tell for sure is cloudy eye's my also be bacteria too .. the fish total stoped eating ???? I also never heard of a blind healthy fish but there is all way's a first for every thing. I would hate to tell you to medicate the fish if not needed. if you have the mean's post pic or video of fish..... If this were me I mite try half the recommended dosage for 5-day's do 25% water change after 5-day's he my my not come round alittle .. also he my just be goin blind again never seen or heard of this but does'nt mean it can't happen (med brand recommended is MARDEL MAROXY FOR FUNGUS also they make bacteria med to ) also try private messaging MILES,ODDBALL these guy's now there **** . they my have heard of or seen fish blindness... ether way good luck happy to help another oscar lover!!!
