Hello, so I put it in with an EB texas, 2 JD, 1 Jag, 1 red devil, 1 oscar (the oscar is tank boss) but moved the pike cause the little red devil was going nuts and trying to fight the pike :( I think I will wait til the pike is bigger and try again cause the pike was probably the 2nd biggest fish in the 120gal with all the tankmates I listed. Are pike cichlids not very aggressive usually? cause it looks like it's a pretty chill fish.

Show us a picture of the pike. A 6 foot 120g is pretty small with all of those fish so it's understandable that the Amph was picking on the newcomer. And if you do have an Atabapo Ladder, I hope you have really soft water since these get HITH really easily, like within a year or 2 being kept in hard water. They haven't been reported as being as aggressive as the Atabapo Red.

Agree with this.
Soft water Amazonian Pikes do not belong in tanks with hard water fish like Herichthys (Texas) Parachromis (Jag), and Amphilophus (red devils).
And a 120 is hardly big enough for those 3 alone.
If it were me, I'd get another 120ish (preferably larger tank) for the oscar and pike, and mix tap with either RO, or rain water for them, depending on the parameters of your tap water. And apply a tannin source like peat or Rooibos tea.
With the amount of fish you have in the 120 now, as adults, and with the amount of nitrate they will produce, unless you do daily fin level water changes, I would expect all of them to be scarred with HITH (as Rocksor predicts) by the time they hit maturity.

Yeah I would agree its a bit overstocked but my general understanding of cichlid tanks was that you don't want it understocked to lower aggression. I will take some pics soon cause all the lights are off right now, and the red pike is fine for now it's in a 75gal alone

Alright and I moved the pike to a 75 gal with nothing else so it's fine for now. I'm working on getting my big tank ready so it will have a bigger home than a 120 in the future and I will take some pics soon once the lights come on tonight.

Did you test the PH after 24 hours sitting in the container? What's the water hardness (GH)?

I tested tap, and then the tanks that the pike was in and the tanks are a bit lower ph than the tap like 6.4 or 6.5 and the tap is a little below 7. About the hardness, I'm gonna have to check that because I don't remember but I do believe the hardness was on the lower side but I'll have to double check.

Heres a pic of the fella. So I'm gonna order some indian almond leaves, driftwood and maybe some peat. Also that rock is on a huge chunk of cycled filter media for this tank.
