My house
My oscar uas been happy and healthy except for a bit of pickiness with uis feeding. He seems lively and not sick at all but this morning when i went to feed the tank found him with a pink piece of something sticking out of his vent. It could simply be waste but i cant be sure. I cant find my camera right now to post but if anyone knows of such an ailment and it is possible for you to post a photo so i can compare i would really appreciate it. Any other help would he appreciated as well.

pictures would help but it just sounds like a huge oscar crap waiting to go, when I had mine after he ate a giant danio he had this happen, a little while later he shot accross the tank and crap went EVERYWHERE.. unles his behavior changes greatly i wouldn't be overly concerned, but once again without pictures it's impossible to tell 100%

Does it look like a pink sausage?

Could be a rectal prolapse. What have you been feeding ?

In any case, stop feeding for the remainder of the week. ( even if it is nothing, it won't harm him )

Yes, it does look like a pink sausage. I was worried because at the tip of it you can see a small opening. It's very strange and hot pink. I feed hikari floating cichild pellets typically but also feed ghost shrimp and earthworms each once a week.

do not feed it. you may be overdoing it on the worms.

I looked up some photos of rectal prolapse and that is dedinately what my o is suffering from.
Any other advice as to what i i should do other than stop feeding momentarily

If you catch it early on you should be able to resolve the prolapse by adding magnesium sulfate (epsom salt) to your tank water. It will help reduce swelling in the tissue, and I have been able to reverse a severe case of prolapsed rectum within a few hrs of adding epsom salt.

And as already mentioned, stop feeding for at least 48 hrs, and then feed only sparingly after that. If you still have issues after treatment & witholding food, then I would highly recommend reading this.
