Hey everyone. It's probably been brought up before but I'm not sure what to put down to search for, "red poop"? Anyways, I have all my fish, (Jardini, Ornate Bicher, 2 Oscars, 1 Common Pleco and 1 Red Parrot), on Hikary Red Pellets but what a mess after they eat. There's red poop all over the gravel. I have to vacuum everytime they eat. What else can I do? It's a 240 gallon tank. I have 2 FX 5's. I also have 2 350 magnums. I was thinking of putting the magnums outlet hose close to the gravel and blowing the poop to each FX 5 intake hose. What do you think? Any other advice is greatly appreciated, The Doctor.

You are going to have to direct the debris into the filters. Either that, or get rid of some fish. I'm pretty sure you do not want to do option two.

lots of snails worked great for cleaning up after my redpooping pbass... however i traded the pbass for some cons and now almost all my snails are gone :(

more flow on the bottom of the tank ftw.. kicking up the bottom so everything floats around the tank till it gets sucked up is not the best answer though because then you will always have lots of stuff flowting around in the tank... its best to try and get some "dead spots" so all the poop/ect has a place to collect

if you get the water to swirl around driftwood/decorations you can get poop hurricanes!!! it neat to watch but also makes cleaning a LOT easyer

Every time I use my net to get rid of some of the poop, it causes a lot of mini-poop hurricanes. I'm going to have to use the magnums to direct the flow of my water at the bottom towards my FX 5's. Hope that will work. Thanks guys for your help, The Doctor.

Maybe you could route the output of the magnum through a RUGF but that would require extensive landscape upheaval to install and again you would still have stuff floating around until it was picked up by the FX5 and this would be assuming the magnum creates enough flow to keep the debris from settling on the floor.
