Hello,

I have had this red severum for about 10 months now and it has always had this bump on its side that does not appear on the other side. I bought it because it seemed to have the nicest red patterns of the bunch. Anyway, is this a tumor or something I should be worried about for his long term health? Take a look.. (also theres a pic of my albino pleco rescue, got his back fin chomped off in the pet store when I bought him)

Really odd. If it has been good for ten months then it likely isn't any major problem. Has it grown in size since purchase? The bump I mean.

It grew with the size of the fish. Not sure if its a deformation or something beneath the skin.

I'd say a deformation if it grew at the same rate. A tumor would grow faster. I'd say your fine.

im not even sure of the rate of growth because I see the fish everyday. cant tell if its growing faster

It could very well be a tumor. I had a cichlid that had an internal growth like this, it lived for a few years then one day suddenly died from what I would guess was internal complications due to the size of the growth.
