Hi

I have had a red sev for over 4 years now, since he was a baby.
He's about 9" and only lives with a few medium tetras, a pleco, and loach peacefully. I will be moving soon, they are in a 55g now and I am going to a 75g (same length 48").
I have low stones and driftwood with silk plants for cover and sand substrate. HOB filter for now, more than ample, UV filter, aeration, small powerhead on timer for part of the day.

I would like to add tankmates when we go to the 75g, but still be comfortable.
I would do Buenos tetras for dithers if I wanted that route, but I would like another bigger fish to suite his size, maybe another Sev?
It's been a long time since I've introduced larger cichlids. He has lived with a jack dempsey before briefly, the JD just didn't work out in the tank however. My sev used to eat medium and small tetras when he was young, but seems to have outgrown that and lives with dither fish nicely.

I'd really like another bigger fish to liven up the tank a bit and also for some company. The tetras ignore him after being with him for 3 years now. There used to be more interaction overall when there were more dither fish and activity. He just goes to his part of the tank and they go to theirs now.

Thanks in advance!
Nick

The blue from my honduran red points look really nice with my red severum. the temperament sounds like it will work to. They aren't altra aggressive but will be able to stand up to a Severum that is on the more aggressive side. Jeff Rapps has some adult males for sale now. You rarely see them as adults. You could get two for your 75.
