IN A PLACE
Hi,

I bought 10 2" red severums last friday. They are in a 60 gallon quarantine tank with a 5" L91 pleco, 3 cory cats, and 2 baby razor musk turtles. The tank is cycled, heated to 82f, filtered by two penguin 350's, and has <10ppm nitrate, ) nitrite or ammonia, pH is 6.5. I bought them all at the place at the same time; it was a central filtration system so they were all in the same water. The severums I picked all had strong finnage but there were others in the tank with them that had signs of damaged fins. All animals in the tank were eating after intial introduction in the tank.
Over the weekend, the pleco looked like it had a parasite growing on it's head (white fuzzy scale) so I made a 25% water change and dosed the tank with tank buddies parasite guard (prazitranquil and meterdiazonle). Almost overnight, the pleco's spot vanished, he is eating and doing great. Yesterday, I came home to find one severum with its tail comletely gone but still alive and swimming around. Under closer examination, I saw that other severums had similar fin damage as the ones in the store tanks. Mostly, it looks like their fins are missing a few rays and/or rotted at the end. Also, a seperate severum has a white bump on its side, probably a parasite (didn't look like ich).
Yesterday and this morning I dosed the tank with formulin. All fish are eating pellets and frozen bloodworms except for the one missing the tail. I was thinking about trying a combo of mela/pima fix but am cautious of adding more treatment....please advise
