A few weeks back I ran across this poor Red Shoulder Severum in the local fish store. Despite its bigger size it had the snot beaten out of it by some small, maybe 3 inch, Jack Dempseys (at least they appeared to be the culprits). I decided the fish needed a new home, and after quarantine it has joined a Golden and Red Spot in a 90 gallon tank. It is still healing, but is coloring up a bit as it gets used to being the dominant fish--mostly because of its size.
