Recently received shipment of 5 fish from "LiveFishDirect" and everyone is doing fine except the RedShouder male they sent won't eat he seems kind of interested in the food and will put a pellet or two in his mouth but promptly spits them out. I feed 'NLS' and I've tried 'Xtreme' fish food. I have been doing water changes every other day.

I have a red spotted severum that will only eat flake food, I was really concerned at first because it would just swallow pellets and promptly spit them out. I randomly tried flake and it ate it right up.

Make sure the Peacock isn't being harassed by other fish.
You might want to try some frozen foods like Mysis as well. They have a better scent.
You might want to email the seller and ask what he fed them too.

How long have the new fish been in the tank? I've had some large haps that took a long time to settle in a would not eat in the meantime. Weeks.

It's been a week and a half the other 4 fish are all haps and theyre all doing great I guess I just have to give it more time. I'm also going to try flake food and blood worms tonight

I really like Paul's suggestion in the mysis shrimp, I don't know a saltwater or freshwater fish that didn't find room in there stomach for that. Fish eat up mysis like jello. It's very healthy, I'd go with the pe mysis brand it's packed with nutrients. Good luck

I put him in a isolation cube so he doesn't have any food competition. I tried blood worms, flakes and, more pellets. He only ate a pellet or 2 after after they sat there for like 10 minutes and completely ignored the other foods. IL try and pick up some mysis shrip before work.
