What could this be? I went to pick up a thinbar the LFS was holding for me and I noticed it had slightly pink/red nostrils. Is this something easy to treat or is it spreadable? I told them to hold it for a few more days instead of buying it now, but I want to still know what this may be.

usually fatal, unless u act fast and know what exactly to do.

Search for a thread SOULFISH created, his Indo got this randomly and just passed away, there is knowledge in there.

Good luck.

Pics would help. ofcourse u know that already.

Here is a picture of the dat a few days ago. The red wasn't showing here, but I circled where it is showing now.

Let me add he is still stable and shows no signs of stress really that I seen. He is in brackish water at the LFS and at my house he will be in fresh. Am I being just paranoid? It is a slight pink behind the nostril.

I am not sure what it is, but I do know that Thin Bar Datnoids should NOT be in brackish tanks, and perhaps that is what is causing it.

I am not saying go out and get it, but if the redness is a sign of irritation from being in brackish water, then it is only going to get worse the longer it is in that tank.

I had that thought. Guess I'll give it a shot and hope for the best.
