hey anyone have a red star flowerhorn? i got one but not sure what exactly it is...had it two days so far and it looks good but isnt eatin completely yet....will get picks once it is settled and comes out from under its fav plant hiding place...water is good and temp at round 75 degrees...any tips? thanks gang...
 
pick up the heat to 80 degrees, they like warmer water

I remember seeing those for sale as juvies on a site a while ago. I wonder what they really look like!
 
yes i will get the heat up...i am tryin to get a good pic of the little guy but it is everytime i get the shot he darts off. so frustratin it is funny...i was also wonderin what this guy is suppossed to look like. that is why i started this thread. was this a good or bad pick-up for a fish? my first flowerhorn or whatever it is. it haa lot of colors though...
 
here is the pic of the little guy. hope this works...bout two inches long or so. just startin to eat so is not filled out yet. not sure if they had not fed this guy for a while before i got him...

he was without any color when first got him, then when acclimated to my tank. the eyes went from yellow to red and all the red on sides and fins came out immdiately.
 
It's got alot of red everywhere. Usually that red gets stronger as they get older and even spreads out across the body. Should be interesting. ;)
