My LFS just came into a pair of male Red Striped Geophagus, from what I’ve read online they reach upwards of a foot long and burrow quite a lot.
I am in the process of designing a tank that should be right around 850 gallons, about 8’x4’x4’.
In the meantime they would be going in a 350g tank with some platinum angels (the geos are around 4” the angels are full grown).

I plan on upgrading the size of the angel fish herd (they’re going in the 850g) and want to know if those would be good long term tank mates, if not, can anyone recommend some other large, schooling or shoaling fish they would work with? I have never kept a Geo and have always wanted to.

I've kept geos and angels together with no problem, including when the geos were smaller. I wouldn't expect much of a problem in a tank that size.
