I am considering getting a redtail baracuda I found locally. how hard are they to ween off live food? any concerns keeping them with cichlids and bichirs?

Thats always a tough question, there are so few absolutes in fish keeping it's almost impossible to accurately so yes or no to successful cohabs not to mention the many variables that need to be considered. Cudas and aggressive cichlids not generally a good idea, they'll chase and bite the Cudas to the point of stress if the Cuda is smaller. If the roles are reveresed the cuda may very well eat the cichlid. The Bichir may eat a small cuda if he's hungry and it can fit in it's mouth. As for weening yes it's possible with some but not all.
