Good Day.

This is my new lil addition to the barracuda pack
I have been told by one that it's Acestrorhynchus grandoculis

It shares likeness with A. altus in general color patters
but the upturned jail is interesting.

Any input is appreciated

I dont think that grandoculis has a big distinct black spot behind its gills like that.....I think ur fish is either a falcatus or a pantaneiro (which would be really rare)....the pantaneiro has pretty big eyes like that and the dark spot behind the gills......heres a pic i found.....kinda hard too see

Great looking ace! The altus looks fantastic as well.
I've owned aces in the past that looked exactly like that and were sold to me as falcatus. I'm fairly certain yours is not a grandoculis. While I've never seen them in person all the pictures I've seen of them look very different from yours - narrower head, longer snout, larger eyes and no large opercular spot.

I really doubt it's falcatus I've kept many of those before, it looks more like a cross breed of falcatus and altus. I've never heard of the pantaneiro which it very well maybe thanks for the info I'll keep up the investigation
