Red Tail Botia question

We picked up a 5 inch red tail botia 2 weeks ago need some info on them. Ours seems a little miserable to our clown loaches and they are bigger than him. There are plenty of hiding places in the tank but he seems to need to seek out the clowns and attack them at bed time. Are red tail botia's not as community minded as as clowns or do they just hate clown loaches?
 
I have a normal Botia loach with 2 clown loaches my little loach is a spazz but he doesn't attack his bigger friends. Not sure what's going on with yours

The normal botia is it blue/grey with a red tail because I may have name wrong on ours?
 
LOOOOL yea they are all botia no such thing as normal or really normal anything they all have specific and distinct attributes

My friend had a read tail and it did the same thing terrorize all the loaches. He didn't have a clown but angelic, yo-yo, and a zebra. It did so until it committedd suicide.

Yeah wasn't sure of the type until a little while ago that's why I said normal lol. Crazy fish killing themselves SMH

This red tail is a nice looking loach but at times I wish he would kill himself. My other thought is maybe I could organize the clowns into a gang. Runitis did your friends loach hurt the others or finally settle down.
 
Red tails are a lot different from clowns. I had five RTs with one CL, and they don't socialize like the CL. They hide mostly and don't dance around like my other CLs. One finally jumped out of the tank by jumping up into my Aquaclear HOB's waterfall and launched himself to the floor! I thought they would be a lot more similar to clowns because they look very close to one, but very different personalities.

I noticed our RT comes out at night when the clowns are going to bed. This is when he torments them by biting at their tails when they are hiding

No he never settled down. He was only a live for maybe two weeks and tormented them constantly and two of the loaches were found dead. Then rt jumped out.
