Red Tail Cat tank!!!

So I spoke with a nice lady from TruVu Aquariums today. She was kind enough to call me in the busiest part of my day and wanted nothing more than to tell me I would be broke! LOL!!!!
My idea was to custom order an 8' x 4' x 2.5' tank to house my rapidly growing RTC. I figured since he has yet to go above six inches in the tank he is in now, the shallowness of the tank would be ok.
I also had them price out a custom wet/dry that measures 6'x2'x2'. All i would need to buy is pumps, hose, brackets, and some return nozzles.
What I want to ask the community is...... whether or not this would be a suitable tank to house my amazing RTC since I am looking to drop over 5K on this thing here soon.

Look around, you can probably get a tank substantially large for 5K, the same size tank here custom built is approx. $2400 plus a bit more for a sump.

altho not as wide i got my 9 x 3 x 3 for £250 = $395 second hand mind

If i could find a tank like that I would build a shed to house it in, too bad my place is a tiny one bedroom.

If you can go a little bigger then do it. If not, then I think it is good. Alot of people put RTC's in something way less.

just remember when u buy a new tank setting it up always costs way more than u expect

wow 5k is even way too $$$ over here in OZ!
but the size sould last for a long time with one RTC.

i can't even imagine spending 5k on a fish tank... of course if i'm ever in a situation where i can afford that i'd love to, unfortunately at the moment i am a broke college student, so i'll stick to my 10 and 45 gal
