i got my red tail cat about 3 months ago and he his about 5-6 inches right now. his tail is like a bright brown color. i was just wondering when it will turn to a bright red. he is very healthy he is allready eating out of my hand and everything. so whats up.

from what i understand it should already be red. someone correct me if im wrong tho. I think they are born with a red tail so mabye you got somethin else

Maybe you just got one that will have some darker colors. Any chance you can post a pic.

Yeah most RTC should have red in there tail by now I agree with Honda you pick one with the darker color and by the way what size tank you have the monster too be in post pic if you can

No, I wish. It is actually a 4 horned and I got to hold him at one of my LFS and so decided to take pic.

thats koo i know where to get blue ones red ones all kinds of them a decent prices

hmmm, strange, I have never seen a RTC under 4" that actually had a full red tail. Usually they have a whitish tail that either is very pinkish or very very white. Try feeding him shrimp and see if the color improves. ;)

dont meen to hijack but my 3" RTC also dosent have a red tail he has white around the outside with some brown it the midel(also his wiskers are turning brown in places )
