Red Tail Catfish, Brown Spots On Tail?

Hey everyone, i have about a 14" RTC that seems to have like a brownish tone right against the red on his tail, it looks kind of like the inside of the soft part of a apple, it bothers me because i want him to look perfect haha, but it doesn't seem to bother him. i know how big they get blah, blah, please no lectures on how difficult it is to keep one for life, ill try to post pictures later but anybody have any idea what it could be?
