Red Tail Catfish

Could a Red Tail Catfish be kept with Koi in an outdoor pond? This may sound like a stupid question but I saw on another forum somebody had one in their pond.

not in cold weather, and if you do you need a heater. and how big is the pond?

If it was heated maybe but the koi would be at risk.

koi and tropical fish are not a good match. totally different needs

yeah not in cold weather since the rtc prefers temp around 80 degrees. and you gotta make sure that your koi/goldie is 3x bigger than the rtc or it will be dinner unless you feed your rtc really good....even then i still wouldn't trust them....so yeah don't do it

Will be best to leave it out then. I don't want to wake up with no Koi and a fat Catfish.

There is a guy who is from India and has a huge RTC and some Hybrids in his pond. Unsure if it is heated, but it must be in some form. He has night shots as well. Look through some threads to see his pond, or maybe Kulha will post
