i just got a bay red tail catfish for my 150 today i also have a shovelnose and a couple other catfish that could eat him at this point. (he is only 2 inches). my question is could i keep him in a plastic container in the same water with everybody else and just let him float around until he is a little bit bigger. because they grow so fast he would not be in there but maybe a week or so. need opioins

I dont see why not as long as you add a sponge filter for some biological filtration and suck up the waste once a week

I don't see a problem with it either. Just make sure that there is some type of filtration and heater for him in there and do regular water changes on it.

I don't see a major problem with that but you may wanna re think keeping him in a 150gal as these guys grow HUGE 4' and are real fat. He'll be fine for a while but he'll have to be relocated aventually.

:iagree: Yup yup
