Hi,
I'm looking to buy a redtail catfish (a 2" from my lfs) for my new 185 gallon tank. Could one live in a tank that size because i know a small one won't stay small long. If I must, I may be able to set up a 300 gallon stock tank for it as it grows but only 90% sure there.

Oh yeah, I have had mine in a 75 gal for about 5 months, he is being switched to my 180 tomorrow. It is plenty big enough for the time being. But yes, even the 180 will eventually have to be upgraded.
 
Cool. Is a 300 gal stocktank big enough???

How big would one I get grow to realisticly???
