How to tell a south american true redtail catfish from a hybrid redtail catfish. Also what do you need to keep these fish? i was thinking a small pond like around 1/4 acre? what temps are good for these fish?

Crappy pic but the fish closest to the camera is an RTC. The one in back is a hybrid. Pretty easy to tell them apart by many criteria.
1/4 acre pond is massive but panama city's weather looks to be too cold for an outdoor pond November through March http://www.weather.com/weather/wxclimatology/monthly/graph/USFL0393 and it would be difficult and expensive to maintain water temp at 68F+. You could likely maintain a smaller pond at appropriate temps with a solar heating system.
