Red Tail Catfish

Hi, anyone know if a 3" inch red tail catfish at LFS can live in a 55 gallon for life? thanks

yeah n00b (in the least offensive way, but c'mon with a ? like that)
rtc's get to about 3 and some say even 5 feet in length and waaaaay over 100 lbs.

Tank is 4 foot and fish grows to 4 foot....no bueno. I have a 6'X3' tank and I definitely think its too small for RTC but some might disagree.

I think that even with bad water quality and severe stunting a RTC would probably outgrow a 55g...
