red tail giant gorami tank mates

i hve a 9 inch rtgg in a grow out and was wondering what would be some good tank mates ? he has some silver dollars with him just now. i was think a pair of oscars?

the tank will be upgraded to an 80 gallon and then again to something in the 250 gallon mark

some rtGG get aggressive as they get larger, but silver dollars are nice to go with them. some types of cichlids work. but its almost a trial and error thing with GG, some oscars can be aggressive, but so can the GG, but ive heard of setups where the two work out.

hmm thanks for the response man yeah im considering getting some oscars but im not sure on size as my gg is a bit of a bully at times so i am not sure if i should get a oscar about the same size to try and calm him since he will not be able to push him around or a smaller one so he can stay boss.

No. You would be surprised how much the RTC's love to eat especially tankmates. Consider your accommodations as well as RTC's are something you wouldn't want to forever keep. Besides that, it is not very easy to find another person who can successfully keep it for a long time.

someone on heres got their arowana killed by a GG, but it really depends on the individual species. im gonna do some limas shovel nosed catfish with mine.
