So, I was reading in the Giant Gourami thread about how aggressive the fish are. Would a RTGG tolerate a clown knife, bichirs, a datnoid, severums, bala sharks or tinfoil barbs, jaguar catfish, and large clown loaches in a 300g if the fish all grew up together or would it turn psycho on them one day and kill the tank? Which of these fish would be most likely targeted by the RTGG and which would work best with it? I thought about having an arowana, but from what I've read, GGs end up killing them.

****IME it's a gamble with any GG. I don't generally understand their behavior, hence can't predict much, except mine definitely dislike any other GG, datnoids, and pbass. That is in 240 gal. Once they go into 4500 gal, they mellow up. They establish a hierarchy and after that it is mostly peaceful.

*****I've never kept them with severum or bichir or clown knives or clown loaches or jaguar cichlid. Barbs appear to do ok with them, again IME.

****To me this goes to show the unpredictability. I can't say I've experienced this but I only kept these together in large ponds and tanks, IIRC.

Mine used to chase my silver dollars all the time and ended up killing one. And it wasn’t just a chase then swim away, it was constant. It could chase it till it lost sight, find another one, chase it, then just kept going all day. I ended up getting rid of it.
Didn’t mess with my datnoid, bichir, pleco or Uaru though.
