Thinking of getting a Red tail Gouramis, but i would like to know if there is a way to sex them? Is there any features on them that help distinguish? Just wondering... has anyone ever tried to breed red tail gouramis before? Or is it impossible? Can anyone who has kept them please give some info on what to feed and water parameters.

Hi there sexing these fish is unknown. They grow to around 20" plus. For an adult fish the tank size would in my recommendation be 5x2x2 with robust decor rocks, bogwood, Feeding they are omnivorous, almost any foods accepted - pellet foods ideal as a staple, include some green foods.

i have 3 (all from 6-9in), and they are only appear to be aggresive to each other, but not to the point of any serious injury. they never bother the p.bass, TSN, or CK. however, the one at my LFS is huge!!! (albino 26in) and he is super agro to everything in his tank, even a 12in. FH.

They can be very mean. Choose tankmates wisely.
