Im setting up a 75 and was looking at there 2 fish. I have heard that the red tails are more aggressive and will be more active as the yellow will hide a lot and wouln't come out very much. I know the Yellow's are a lil' bigger, could I do 2 red tails?
Thanks. I'm still open to other fish. So feel free to make suggestions.

I think you could do your choice. I also think you could get away with up to three.

IME they're both fairly shy and hide a lot. At least compared to ATF.

3 red tails barras. Or better, 2 red tail payaras.

Thanks. I just don't have the space or money to provide for a full grown GATF

I was only meaning to imply that my statement of their being shy was in relation to ATF, I wasn't trying to sell you on ATF.

I also very strongly respect you for not wanting to get an ATF when you know its out of your means. :)

I have:
- 1, 5" red tail (had him 6 months)
- 1, 6" yellow tail (2 months)
- 3, 6" tats (2-3 months)

All of them seem to be just as active but the cudas are definitely more skittish. None of my cudas I have ever hid and there's plenty of places for them to do so.
The red tail hasn't grown at all to whereas the yellow and the tats put on an inch in a couple of months.

Thanks, and yeah Rob i dont want to have a miserable fish to get stunted and be unhealthy in a tank to small for it. lix.ma 14, dont payara get like 30 pounds and about 4'?
