hey guys i'm planning to get some red tails but the colouration has very stumped me. There are some red tailed with the very distinctive red tails and a greenish silver tinge on the body. They eyes are also black. Another kind of red tail payara i;ve seen are the broing looking ones with the grey body and the pink tails. Are they a different subspecies or does the colour change by age and size?? i very want one with a silvery green body with black eyes. I'm getting one that grey. Do I need a DARK BACKGROUND or a special diet. i know there are food that can inhance a fish's colouration. Is that the secrete? If not, what is the problem??

thanks

Nope not a different subspecies. There are red and yellow tail varients if thats what youre talking about. The right food will definitely affect the color.. Choosing the right sand color or bg will make the colors stick out more. Hard part is converting your tat to pellets, fillet, etc
