local wholesaler has them on his list. what are they anyone have a pic?

I've seen a 'red stingray' for sale which was basically a dark retic priced 50% too expensive. This could be a similar fish, it seems that a lot of LFS use whatever label the exporter used and your wholesaler could be doing the same.

If possible ask them to send you some pics and post them up.

i have seen those at big als in pa, they werent retics. they had less markings, not sure what they were though
 
I have seen this ray before. It is not your common retic because the few I saw were around 8-10" in diamter, and had a reddish-brown color to their disk. But I can't tell you for certain where to catagorize. They did however come out of Peru.
 
I think thats what they are some kind of retic because they would whole sale around $100.00.
