red tail tat and datnoid

whats everyones opinion on datnoids and red tail tats living together, assuming both are same size? my datnoids are pretty mellow, and I hear red tail tats are too. also is keeping 1 tat okay? or should I get two?

I know first hand that dats have a tendency to pic on fish that rest in the same place for short periods of time. Almost like cichlids do for territorial disputes. I've gotten rid of my datnoid due to nipping at my scomb. But I don't know the behavior or tats.

I personally have never had a problem with datnoids chasing my other characins ... they will fight eachother aggressively, but are not likely to attack other fish as long as the other fish cant fit in their mouth, and they have deceivingly big mouths and can become a very large fish
