Red tail vanished

I had started growing out my red tail car and an alligator gar in a 125. The gar did had a bit of a lea and size on the cat. They never showed any interest I each other and never went near each other. I come home from work today and the red tail cat is no where to be found. I checked all the rock caves behind the rocks. I stuck a net in to try and flush him out. I looked all over the place to see if he jumped out. Nothing not a trace. The only thing I find hard to believe about maybe the gar ate him is the cats head was bigger then the gars mouth.

Alligator gars have a very special skull that separates into 3 pieces so they can eat larger prey, what was the size difference? And what time period was you gone? Not sure about gars but catfish can digest stuff really fast in the right conditions.

If its no where to be seen it may have been eaten , my jardini ate a redtail once but it was a bit small and wishfull thinking at the time , but I can't see a gar eating one without having a massive bulge in its stomach, my guess is its jumped out it must be there somewhere
