Red tail

Hi everyone, I have a baby red tail that doesn’t seem to eat. He ate good the first week I had him but now he won’t eat tilapia(his old fav) or brine shrimp which I fed when I got him. He just sits there in the little pit he dug in the gravel and doesn’t eat. He won’t even eat feeders

Red tail what? Catfish, i assume? Could it have eaten some gravel and got clogged up?

If it’s acting normal then would suggest waiting a day or 2 then re-feed. Give it a chance to process the food and move it out. I assume ur feeding daily. Is the belly swollen? Water change would help.

Yes catfish, I will skip feeding for a day or 2 and do a water change tomorrow. Thank you everyone I will keep you updated

40 breeder with 4in pacu he is abt 4in abt 1000 gal of filtration

Do you have any larger tanks for these fish coz maybe the fish feel cramped ergo not feeling like eating possibly...
