Hi

A small number (10) of red tailed barracuda A.falcatus have come up for sale. I have a 200US gallon tank 79x24x24". Current stock is;

Spotted silver dollar 7

Geophagus ? 5

Hujeta gar 3

Dwarf pike cichlid 3

All are small and growing on. The hujeta gars are in a seperate tank until I sourced the red tails.

I was thinking maybe a shoal of 5?

Too many? Not enough?

Any feedback appreciated.

yes 5 is cool, the more of them u get the better. these fish are comfortable in groups. I would worry about those dwarf pike though, they are bullies by nature. Even fish alot larger can become targets.

5 would be very cool to see. I have had 2 I bought at the same time that have been buddies since they were 3". Currently the one is pushing 6.5" and the other about 6". Like underboss said the cichlid could be a problem potentially scaring them causing them to freak out and bash into the side of the glass. Other than that there is plenty of room only suggestion is add powerhead for additional current.

I haven't got them yet. They arrived in the country (UK) on Thursday and I'm waiting for a phone call when they are ready to be picked up. Either Falcatus or Altus would be cool.
Might get seven as the shop is 190miles away and they won't ship due to them being sensitive.

Thanks for the input so far.
