Would it be safe to have a RTC in an indoor pond lined with 45 mm flexible liner?

I am afraid they might poke a hole in it with their spiny fins. Any thoughts on this?

1100 gallons, currently lightly stocked

:grinno: :grinyes:

i dont think you will have a problem i say go for it

ditto

Your redtail will be happy in a pond, and will grow quickly with 1100 gallons to play in .
just watch out it doesnt eat its pond mates.....

i need to get a indoor pond, they sound awsome

Tropical ponds are great if you have monster fish and far cheaper than buying a huge tank.
but they are totaly useless if you have arrowana for obvious reasons 1 jump and fish on floor!

the other but is most fish are not that interesting when viewed from the top but you can install a side acrylic viewing glass. by using a special sealant and a butyl liner.

I have a 12ft x 6 ft x 2-3ft deep pond in a conservatory that i built for my red tailed cat. but since he died aged 12 years old there mainly central american cichlids and few catfish and a knifefish

the main but with tropical ponds is if you move house you cant really take them with you!

just remove all the water, decorations, put in a new pond liner and it's easy to move. They don't weight very much at all. :)
