Hi, I was wondering if a Red tailed Gourami and a Austrailian Arowana can be tankmates...because i put them both together and the arowana would keep attacking the gourami..is this normal? or should i separate them..My arowana is about 8 inches long and the gourami is a medium size..anyone have an ideas? if would help me alot, thanks..

We need a more detailed info........ Your aro is 8" and you say your rtgg is medium size... meaning 4" i assume?? Well first how big is your tank? How long has the aro been in that tank and how long till you first introduce your rtgg in together? Any other tank mates?

Yeah the gourami is about 4 inches, and my tank size gal is 130..the tankmates are two blood parrots, 1 red tail catfish, 1 pleco, and 2 african cichlid..

Jars are known to be bully's. a 4" rtgg is too small for a strong 8" aro. I say you take the rtgg out to a seperate tank, and powerfeed him till he gets bigger, close to size with the aro... then put it back together.... Good luck!

What about the Red Tailed Catfish?

Another reason the aro is picking on the rtgg is because both of them are surface swimmers... and the aro is claiming his territory.

haha yea... that rtc is gonna pwn everythin in there xD ...
anyway.... make sure everything is bigger than the rtc by quite a lot , to be safe
and grow out ur rtgg rilly fast somewhere else, they eat a lot, shouldnt be a problem...
