i recently did a water change wensday and now my largest tat wont eat.he just lets my silver dollars steal the silversides and my smaller tat eats fine wat should i do also he also lost a tooth

when payara lose their teeth, a lot of times they can be reluctant to eat... your not doing anything wrong, its natural.... just wait till his tooth grows back in, and he should resume eating normally ... his tooth should fold up and back into place within a day or 2

This happens from time to time.

x3 payara go on fasts sometimes, especially when shedding teeth...his appetite will pick back up.

Yep,I've had them even fast after moving them from one tank to another.

My tat routinely goes on hunger strikes for up to a week at a time. It never affected his health and he'd always start eating again once he was hungry. Nothing to worry about. Also, shedding teeth is normal.

Iv found that Payaras are reluctant to eat when either about to loose a tooth, or a new one is replacing a lost one.
