Looks male to me, no dark spot in the dorsal fin. Also it has the metallic shiny spots on the body that's a male trait.

Heres a male I had for a bit. See the shiny blue spots all over the body.

Ahhh, so it looks definitely male according to the blue spangles on his dorsal. Next ?...Can they live in a community of other large SA's liek geo's etc. As he gets bigger Ill remove my current stocking, in my signature.

As an immature juvenile sure. But like any cichlid when it matures all bets are off. He could be gentle Ben, or a raving lunatic only time will tell.
Tank size will play a major role in the outcome. Too small of tank will lead to aggression, disease, and death.

Males can grow out to 18in, females to 12in,I would not try to cohab it with anything other than a female in anything less than an 8x3x3. A single adult male in my view needs a 6x2x2 minimum, a pair in an 8x2x2

He probably won’t take to well to tankmates. I’ve seen one pin a mota. You need about 300 gallons of you are going to keep him with other cichlids.

The good thing is they are slow growers so you have time.
Thats what I was trying to figure out. How much time do I have to rehome my current stock? if he's a slow grower, ill slowly rehome the crew.

How big is he now?
From what I’ve read it’s about 1/2 inch per month. Probably don’t get crazy until the 4-6 inch, like most cichlids.
He looks about 2.5 in the pic, so that would give you about 3-6 months to be on the safe side.
