how big do redterrors get.Some people say 23 inches and some say 15.can someone tell me whats the max size and other info on this fish

My understanding is that males WILL reach at least 14" and could get as long as 20" but around 16" is more the norm.
yeah as do i, in wild theyy can get roughly 20 inches but in home aquaria, usually not recorded over 16-18 inch mark..
