so my red terror is about 4 in is a mean lil guy he has been beating on my 8in pleko.. I think i may need to rehome the pleko... Haha.. Any ideas?

in my experience plecos arent tough at all haha they just sit there and let other fish pick on them
i put a 5 incher in a 20 gallon with my yellow lab who was only 3 inches at the time, and within 3 hours I was taking him out again becuase his fins were practically obliterated

hes ok now though, a couple weeks with a community of tetras and he was back at his prime

I don't see it destroying the pleco, but you never know. And I've had some aggressive plecos in the past, so saying they're not tough at all is an understatement. Keep an eye on it, and you might just have to get rid of the pleco, I can't see it getting better.

its a 55g tank... And his tail fin is beat up a little and also some bites out of some other fins.. He is a beutiful plek so i don't want to see him stressed and beat on.

+1 my pleco has been beat up by almost every cichlid in the book and is still kicking...

My 5" common pleco, swam in circles with my jaguar stabbing the jag with his fins. In the end the pleco looked like crap and shredded, the jag was fine, pleco was moved into his on tank then reintroduced when the cichlids were put into the big tank.

to OP: you never answered the question of tank size.

I have also kept a pleco that I witnessed trying to attack other fish with his fins. Maybe your plecos never reached maturity and developed the attitude.
