Ok so i have a very aggressive clown knife fish who is about 18in long. He has killed anumber of other tank mates i have put in. I found a big red terror (over a foot long) at the LFS that was a drop off. I was wondering if it would be ok or a fight to the death if i put these two together?

depends on tank size, if space is available then it should be fine, prob need 150 gl. tank.
put a divider in first for a week or two then see how it works.

No dont do it-Clown Knife will try to stand its ground and eventually when the Festae gets comfy it will kill the Clown Knife.

It could go either way very easily. It is the clown knifes tank, if he doesn't like the terror he could kill him when he is stressed. If the clown lets the terror live, he may be the a gonner, or they could live together. Not worth the risk unless you can seperate if things get bad and watch them while they are together.

i dont think the festae would harm the clown unless consistently provoked. ive kept quite a few festae and they seem to never bother anything except other cichlids.

What size tank is the clown knife in? If he is that big of a problem and is in a tank thats not going to house him for life I would get rid of him, unless you plan on upgrading.

clown will die.

I agree, plus the knife will probably attack the festae at night.
