When do males loose their stripes? My male looks like a female and always has...MFK says male, and I agree...Is it normal for a male to be 6" and still show stripes? I feel like he is imitating a female to not get beaten in his tank? I'll post pics if anyone wants a looksy...

Not at all unusual in a community setting. They tend to display prominantly in stressfull condition's, spawning etc.

When I had my old 13inch male some days his bars would be as strong/dark as a con, not very often but still happend at 13inches.

He has just never really lost the stripes. I was getting all antsy for him to be solid. I guess he has a ways to go. His top fin also goes black like a female, but not that shiny strange black like a female, but solid matted really dark black. He does not look like a girl, I thought he was mimicking a girl....
